The Wildcat II 5110 has been highly optimized for the latest Intel® Pentium® 4 processor-based workstations, taking full advantage of the latest increases in CPU performance and bus bandwidth. Dual programmable geometry accelerators deliver dramatically improved 3D graphics performance, and enable the new Wildcat II 5110 to again dominate the latest Viewperf 6.1.2 benchmarks by easily outperforming all other competing graphics products in every category (see scores below).

As well as strengthening 3Dlabs' position as the industry-leading supplier of extreme 3D graphics acceleration for CAD and DCC users, the raw power and sophisticated functionality of the Wildcat II 5110 will enable 3Dlabs to address additional performance-sensitive market segments such as visual simulation, medical imaging, GIS and earth science visualization.

`By optimizing its products for the Pentium 4 architecture, 3Dlabs continues to demonstrate its technology leadership,' said Jeff Clarke, vice president and general manager, Dell (Nasdaq: DELL - news) Precision Workstations. `Dell's goal is to continue its graphics leadership in the workstation industry by being the first to deliver Pentium 4-based workstations with the Wildcat II 5110 to our performance-focused customers in engineering and entertainment.

`3Dlabs' Wildcat II 5110 is exhibiting industry leadership by enabling Intel Pentium® 4 Processor-based workstations to redefine graphics performance for the workstation market segment, said J. Grady, general manager of Intel\'s (Nasdaq: INTC - news) Workstation Products Division. ``As a result, the Wildcat II 5110 and Pentium® 4 Processor delivers a new level of 3D performance on Intel Architecture workstations.

`The Wildcat brand is known for consistently delivering the highest-performing graphics for Windows NT workstations, and the dual pipeline Wildcat II 5110 with dual geometry accelerators keeps this tradition going,' said Kara Yokley, senior workstation analyst at IDC, a leading IT media, research and exposition company. ``It nicely rounds out 3Dlabs' range of graphics offerings from the entry level to the extreme high-end of this demanding market.'

``With the introduction of the breakthrough Wildcat II architecture, 3Dlabs continues to demonstrate strong leadership in delivering professional 3D graphics solutions,' said Jerry Peterson, executive vice president and general manager, 3Dlabs Wildcat Division. ``The Wildcat II 5110 delivers radically improved performance with the same high quality and cutting-edge features that professional users have come to expect from the Wildcat family of extreme-performance accelerators.'

Unmatched Productivity through Performance, Quality and Functionality of the Wildcat II 5110

The breakthrough dual-pipeline architecture of the Wildcat II 5110 includes a new highly-tuned geometry accelerator, along with a new rasterization engine and bus interface chipset for use with the latest AGP Pro 4X slots. The result is record-breaking Viewperf performance and never-before-seen, real-world application performance. Dedicated DirectBurst(TM), frame buffer and texture memory offer a total of 144 MB of onboard memory for unmatched image quality and performance.

In addition to record-shattering speed, the Wildcat II 5110 is engineered with high-end professional functionality and image quality not found on competing boards, to deliver the ultimate productivity for CAD and DCC end-users. Wildcat II 5110 delivers hardware-accelerated 3D volumetric texturing, OpenGL® 1.2 compliant image processing, patented SuperScene(TM) full scene-based anti-aliasing and both VGA and DVI-I outputs as standard that can provide single-board dual-screen capability under Windows 2000.
